Isle of Jura 12 Years is a single malt Scotch whisky from the island of Jura, off the west coast of Scotland. The island is sparsely populated, and its name means deer in Gaelic.
The whisky is matured for around 12 years in American oak that held bourbon, then finished in European oak ex-sherry Oloroso casks.
The nose has apple, honey and raisin, followed by cocoa, spice and leather. The palate opens with a light note of peat smoke, then raisin, chocolate and caramel with spiced oak. The finish is of medium length, with green apple, hay and menthol.
