Isle of Jura Seven Wood is a single malt Scotch whisky from the island of Jura, off Scotland's west coast, in a 70cl bottle. It carries no age statement.
The whisky is matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks, then given a further maturation in six French oak casks that previously held wines from Allier, Les Bertranges, Limousin, Jupilles, Troncais and Vosges.
The nose is spicy and floral, with ginger, flowering meadows, coffee, chocolate and barley malt. The palate brings citrus, liquorice root, black pepper, apple and cinnamon alongside maritime peat. The finish is of medium length, with apple, orange, coffee and mint leaves and a slightly smoky aftertaste.
