Isle of Raasay Marsala Cask Limited Release

This limited release single malt comes from Isle of Raasay Distillery, which sits on a small Hebridean island between Skye and the Scottish mainland and opened in 2017. It has been finished in Marsala wine casks. The Marsala adds dried fruit, dark cherry and warm spice to the distillery's peated and unpeated malt character. The nose is rich dried fruit and dark cherry with toasted oak and a hint of island smoke. The palate has velvety Marsala sweetness, dark chocolate, warming spice and subtle peat. The finish is long, with dried fruit, oak tannins and a gentle coastal saltiness.
