Isle of Raasay – Single Cask Series Unpeated Ex-Rye Whiskey Cask (70cl, 62.1%)

This is a single cask bottling of unpeated Isle of Raasay single malt, one of the six casks in the distillery's Na Sia recipe. The whisky matured in a first-fill cask that previously held Woodford Reserve rye whiskey from Kentucky. It is bottled at natural cask strength, 62.1% ABV, non-chill filtered and with natural colour, from a cask that yields roughly 250 bottles. The unpeated spirit is released in alternate years with the peated version. The nose offers pepper, cinnamon and orchard fruit. The palate is warm and spicy, with butterscotch, vanilla and ripe berries, and the finish runs on with oak spice, cinnamon and a peppery tail.
