J&B Rare Blended Scotch Whisky

J&B Rare is a blended Scotch whisky made by Justerini & Brooks, a company founded in 1749 and now part of Diageo. It is built around a light, delicate style, with a high proportion of Speyside single malts and only a small weight of grain whisky. The blend was formulated in the 1930s for the American market, where lighter spirits were favoured during and after Prohibition. That history explains its pale amber colour and gentle, fruity character. It remains one of the best-selling blended Scotches in the world and is often used in highballs and cocktails.
