The Gael is a blended Irish whiskey from J.J. Corry, a small independent bottler based in County Clare, Ireland. It was founded by Louise McGuane, who is known for her inventive approach to blending and ageing Irish whiskey. The name behind the brand dates to 2013, when she found an old Irish whiskey label bearing a shamrock. Her research led her to a whiskey bonder called J.J. Corry, which had operated only a few miles from her family's farm. The brand is named in honour of that long-forgotten businessman.
