J. Rieger & Co. Bottled in Bond is a six-year-old straight bourbon from the J. Rieger distillery in Kansas City, Missouri, bottled at 100 proof (50%) in a 75cl bottle. It was distilled in a single season, aged in the on-site rickhouse and bottled under the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897.
The mash bill is 56% corn, 30% rye and 14% malted barley, and the spirit was distilled in a 750-gallon copper pot still.
The nose offers caramel, vanilla and baking spice with a black-pepper snap from the rye. The palate is round and oily, with toffee, cinnamon and dried fruit, and the finish is long, warming and spicy.
