This is the 2022 Monogram from J. Rieger & Co. of Kansas City, Missouri, bottled at 51.5% ABV. It is the fifth Monogram release and the first to be a straight bourbon.
The whiskey is a blend of bourbons aged between 6.5 and 10.5 years, finished in four Oloroso sherry casks that are nearly a century old. Only 1,887 bottles were filled.
The nose brings clover honey, red fruits, toasted cashews and candied almond. Buttered toast and salted caramel meet black cherry and dried apricot on the palate, with hints of dried mint and sage. The finish is lingering, with cigar tobacco, sweet spice and Oloroso sherry wood.
