Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Proof is a Tennessee whiskey bottled uncut and unfiltered at cask strength, in a 750ml bottle. The strength differs from barrel to barrel, between 62.5% and 70%.
It is made from a mashbill of 80% corn, 12% rye and 8% malted barley. The spirit passes through sugar maple charcoal in the Lincoln County Process, then matures in new charred American oak. Only selected barrels from the upper floors of the rickhouse go into this single barrel bottling.
The nose has ripe banana, vanilla wafer and vanilla ice cream. The palate brings banana nut bread, brown sugar, butterscotch and smoky leather. The finish is long and warming, with spice and charred oak.
