Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Rye is a Tennessee rye whiskey bottled from individually selected barrels at 47% ABV. It was introduced in January 2016 as the first rye from Jack Daniel's in over 150 years, using a mash bill of 70% rye, 18% corn and 12% malted barley, and it is filtered through three feet of sugar maple charcoal.
The nose has ripe apple and pear, honeyed bakery notes, light toasted oak and a gentle rye spice. On the palate, caramel and vanilla sit alongside baking spices and a soft rye pepper. The finish is clean and moderately long, with oak spice, gentle rye warmth and a hint of fruit or honey.
