Raglan Road is a 5 year old Irish single malt from Jack Ryan, bottled at cask strength, 54.9% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It was aged in bourbon barrels, matured in Madeira barrels and finished in imperial stout casks from Seamus McMahon's Brehon Brewhouse in Killanny, Monaghan.
The finish is a collaboration between the Ryan and McMahon families: the Ryans sent casks to the brewery, where the stout was finished, then retrieved them and filled them with whiskey the same day. 3,500 bottles were released, each numbered and signed by Eunan Ryan.
The nose is marmalade, candied orange peel and pound cake. The palate brings honey nut cereal, bread crust and nougat, and the finish citrus pith, orange sweets and sultanas.
