A blended Scotch whisky from the 1950s, in a 75cl bottle at 40% ABV. It comes from Black & White, a brand first produced by the London-based blender founded by James Buchanan.
The whisky was originally known as House of Commons, being the official whisky there. The nickname drawn from its black and white labelling eventually became the name of the brand. Buchanan himself conceived the label's motif of a black Scottish Terrier and a white West Highland Terrier in the 1890s.
The brand later passed through mergers and acquisitions involving Dewar's in 1915, Distillers Company and Guinness, and it is now owned by Diageo.
