This is a 1950s bottling of James Buchanan's De Luxe, a blended Scotch whisky at 40% ABV, in a 75cl bottle. James Buchanan was born in Ontario in 1849 and came to Scotland to work for Charles Mackinlay & Co. In 1884 he began on his own account. The company merged with John Dewar & Sons in 1915 to form Buchanan-Dewar, and became part of DCL in 1925. Diageo, its modern successor, still produces the blends. The original Buchanan blend used Dalwhinnie, Clynelish and Glendullan.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
