James E. Pepper Old Pepper Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon (50%)

Old Pepper Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon is a Kentucky bourbon from James E. Pepper, distilled and bottled at the James E. Pepper Distillery in Lexington. It is aged for a minimum of 4 years in new toasted and charred Kentucky oak barrels, with the oak air seasoned for at least 18 to 24 months, and bottled at 100 proof (50%). The mash bills combine corn, rye, malted barley and malted rye. The label uses fonts and designs from the 1880s onwards and carries a strip stamp showing the distilling season, a nod to Colonel James E. Pepper, who first used the Old Pepper name. It is described as rich in caramel, vanilla, spice and malt.
