Jameson 18 Year Old is a blended Irish whiskey from the Midleton Distillery in County Cork, combining three distillates that include pot still and grain whiskeys. It is bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered, in a 750ml bottle.
The whiskey spends 18 years in American and Spanish oak casks, then is married for at least six months in first-fill American oak. The strength was raised from 40% in the 2022 relaunch.
Tasting notes describe toffee, dried apricot and caramelised apple on the nose; toffee, fudge, spice, leather and charred wood on the palate, with sherry nuttiness and dark chocolate; and a long, warm finish of earthy, nutty notes and dried fruit.
