Jameson 18 Year is a blended Irish whiskey made from pot still and grain whiskeys, bottled at 40% ABV. It is distilled at Midleton, and every component is matured for at least 18 years in oak casks.
The maturation typically combines ex-bourbon barrels with sherry-seasoned wood.
The nose has baked apple, ripe pear, honeyed malt, vanilla pod and seasoned oak, with hints of toasted almond and clove. On the palate are orchard fruit and dried apricot with toffee, vanilla and gentle oak spice, plus marzipan, citrus peel and dark chocolate. The finish is long and warm, with orchard sweetness and soft oak spice.
