Jameson Black Barrel is an Irish whiskey made with a higher proportion of pot still whiskey than the classic Jameson. It is matured in first-fill bourbon and sherry casks, and the bourbon barrels are double-charred, which brings added sweetness, depth and aromatic richness.
It is a warm golden colour with bright amber highlights. The nose has butterscotch, toffee and vanilla, with a little sherry richness and toasted oak. The palate is creamy, with fudge, warm spice, caramel and nutty notes. The finish is smooth and lingering, with vanilla, gentle spice and a touch of charred wood.
