Jameson Black Barrel is an Irish whiskey matured in bourbon barrels that the coopers have charred a second time.
The extra charring is the point of the bottling: Jameson describes it as a way of drawing out the richness and complexity held in the wood, and presents the whiskey as a tribute to its coopers.
