Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition (70cl, 40%)

Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition is an Irish blended whiskey made at the Midleton Distillery in County Cork, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It grew out of a collaboration between Jameson's master distiller and the founders of a local microbrewery, Franciscan Well in Cork. The whiskey is triple-distilled Jameson, aged further in barrels that once held craft Irish stout. The stout adds roasted, chocolaty depth without overpowering the gentle Irish character of the spirit. On the nose there is fresh coffee, cocoa nibs, green apple and a touch of hops. The palate is velvety, with dark chocolate, butterscotch, roasted malt and light nuttiness. It finishes with gentle spice, creamy stout notes and a dry malt tail.
