A 1970s bottling of Avonside, a Speyside single malt from Jas. Gordon & Co., at 57% in a 75.7cl bottle. It is a 100 proof bottling made for Edoardo Giaccone, who owned the Whiskyteca in Salo, Italy. Giaccone opened his bar in 1958 and was importing specially bottled official single malts by the late 1960s. He was the first person in Italy to have official bottlings made exclusively for him, including releases from Clynelish, Bowmore, Dalmore and Highland Park. Rumour links Avonside to Glenlivet, though the name has also been used by Gordon and MacPhail for younger blends and blended malts.
