Jaywalk is the flagship straight rye whiskey from the New York Distilling Company. Its mash bill is 75% locally grown rye, a blend of the revived Horton Heirloom and organic Field Race ryes.
It is blended from barrels aged between six and eight years and bottled at 92 proof, which is 46% ABV.
The nose is dark caramel, vanilla custard, espresso and a touch of burnt orange peel. The palate is smooth and rich, with brown sugar and fruit alongside black pepper and cinnamon. The finish is medium to long, with sweet caramel and soft oak.
