Jefferson's Blend of Straight Bourbon (175cl, 41.1%)

Jefferson's Blend of Straight Bourbon is a Kentucky bourbon that combines up to four straight bourbons, bottled at 41.15% ABV in a 1.75 litre bottle. The bourbons differ in mash bill and age, and are built around a grain recipe of 60% corn, 30% rye and 10% malted barley. The barrels are only lightly charred, rather than at the heavier levels common in the industry. This reduces heavy caramelisation and brings out more grain character, fruit and delicate oak. The nose offers brown sugar, peach and buttery oak with a lift of citrus. The palate has vanilla, ripe peach, toffee and gentle nuttiness, with mild rye spice. The finish is warm and delicate, with honey and light smoky oak.
