Jefferson's Marian McLain is a blended Kentucky bourbon bottled at 53% in a 75cl bottle. It combines five whiskeys, each standing for one of Marian McLain's five children. Jefferson's blends whiskeys sourced from Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee. The original release included eleven-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon, fourteen-year-old Tennessee straight bourbon, a rum-cask-finished bourbon and a wheated double-barrel bourbon. The recipe has been adjusted in later releases. Caramel and brown sugar lead the nose, with dark cherry and orange zest. The palate is honeyed and fruity, with pear, baked apple, toffee and baking spice. The finish is medium-long, with cinnamon, orange zest and salted caramel.
