Jefferson's Ocean Aged at Sea is a Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 45% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
After roughly seven to eight years maturing on land, the bourbon is put into American oak barrels and sent to sea for around five to ten months. The voyage crosses the equator four times, calls at more than 25 ports and passes five continents. About a quarter of the liquid was distilled at Kentucky Artisan Distillery in Crestwood, with the rest from independent Kentucky distilleries.
The nose brings vanilla, caramel, coconut and a hint of sea spray. Butterscotch and brown sugar lead the palate, and the long finish carries caramel corn, sea salt and warm oak.
