Jefferson's Ocean Aged At Sea Double Barrel Rye Whiskey (75cl, 48%)

Jefferson's Ocean Aged At Sea Double Barrel Rye is a rye whiskey bottled at 48% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It was matured first in #3 char barrels, then double-barrelled in a mix of char #3 and toasted barrels. The barrels then went to sea aboard Voyage 26, which left the Port of Savannah in hurricane season, passed through the Panama Canal and crossed the South Pacific, from the cold waters near New Zealand to the calmer coast off Australia. Constant motion and shifting temperatures caramelise the sugars in the wood, giving a darker, richer rye. It is non-chill filtered. Expect caramel, spice and a hint of saltiness on the palate.
