Jefferson's Reserve Old Rum Cask Finish is a Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 45.1% in a 750ml bottle.
The bourbon is aged for eight years in new American oak, then finished for fifteen months in casks that previously held Goslings Family Reserve Rum. That rum had itself spent sixteen to twenty years in the casks.
Molasses leads the nose, with ripe banana, caramelised sugar and vanilla bean. The palate is honeyed, with corn sweetness and toffee, then dark chocolate, cinnamon and tropical fruit such as pineapple and banana. The finish is medium to long and warm, with vanilla, toasted marshmallow and soft allspice.
