This is Jefferson's Reserve Kentucky straight bourbon given an extra 12 months in French oak casks that previously held Cabernet Sauvignon from the Pritchard Hill vineyard of Chappellet Winery in St. Helena, Napa Valley. It is bottled at 45.1% in a 750ml bottle.
The base is a very small batch blend selected by master blender Trey Zoeller, and the finish was developed together with Cyril Chappellet.
The nose offers blackberry, black cherry, licorice and dark chocolate. On the palate come dates, apricots, lemon and Cabernet fruit, with vanilla, toffee and honey. The finish is long and smoky, with oak tannins.
