Jefferson's Reserve Twin Oak is a Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 45.1% in a 75cl bottle. It carries no age statement.
Fully mature bourbon is given a second barrel, a custom 'wave' design developed with Independent Stave Company. Its interior staves are grooved to increase contact with the wood, and the barrel is flash-charred and then toasted under controlled temperature.
The nose is thick wood, vanilla and butterscotch over cinnamon-apple tart. The palate opens with baking spices, then roasted almonds, sweet bell pepper, fresh-cut wood and a hint of apple. The finish is medium in length, with lingering spice.
