Jefferson's Tropics Aged in Humidity is a Kentucky straight bourbon that was fully matured, then shipped by sea to Singapore. The barrels spent 18 months in equatorial heat and humidity before bottling at 52% ABV. Founder Trey Zoeller chose that strength to keep the whiskey's full expression.
The nose offers sandalwood, barrel char and Mexican chocolate, with molasses, nutmeg, coconut cake, tropical fruit and a gentle note of sea air. On the palate come molasses, stewed pear, black cherry, tobacco leaf and baking spices, with a hint of sea salt. The finish is long, with dark chocolate, maple, black pepper and seasoned oak.
