Jim Beam – Bourbon (175cl, 40%)

Jim Beam is a Kentucky straight bourbon, aged for 4 years in new charred American oak barrels at the Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont, Kentucky. It is made by the sour mash process from corn, rye and malted barley, listed in recent Beam materials as 77% corn, 13% rye and 10% malted barley, and bottled at 40% in a 1.75 litre bottle. The brand traces back to Jacob Beam, who sold his first barrel in 1795, and seven generations of the Beam family have distilled since. It is typically described as soft vanilla, caramel and sweet corn with gentle rye spice and light oak. The finish is of medium length, with lingering vanilla.
