Jim Beam Devil's Cut is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 45% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It uses the same mashbill of 77% corn, 13% rye and 10% malted barley as the flagship Jim Beam.
After barrels aged for at least six years are emptied, water, agitation and heat draw out the bourbon that has soaked into the wood. That liquid is blended with extra-aged bourbon, giving a more oak-driven spirit.
The nose has deep char, toasted oak, sweet corn, vanilla and a smoky backdrop. The palate is full-bodied, with espresso, black tea, caramel, black pepper and clove. The finish is medium-long, with charred oak, smoke and a dry, slightly tannic edge.
