Jim Beam – Red Stag Black Cherry Bourbon (75cl, 32.5%)

Red Stag is a flavoured Kentucky straight bourbon from Jim Beam, infused with natural black cherry and bottled at 32.5% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It was launched in 2009 as the brand's first flavoured bourbon. The base is straight bourbon distilled from corn, rye and malted barley, which then goes through a black cherry infusion. Black cherry leads the nose, with bourbon, vanilla and light oak behind it. The palate is juicy ripe cherry, then spiced vanilla with cinnamon and nutmeg, soft caramel and a touch of oak. The finish is smooth and fairly short, with lingering cherry sweetness, gentle warmth and slightly more oak.
