Jim Beam Single Barrel is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 54% ABV in a 750ml bottle. Each bottle is drawn from a single cask and individually numbered.
The master distiller hand-selects fewer than one percent of maturing barrels at the Clermont distillery for this bourbon. The mashbill is 77% corn, 13% rye and 10% malted barley, and the whiskey is matured in new charred American white oak.
Vanilla bean, caramelised sugar and toasted oak open the nose, with nutmeg. The palate shows toffee, caramel corn, roasted nuts and baking spices, then leather and dried fruit. The finish is long and warming, with charred oak and vanilla before a dry spiciness takes over.
