Jim Beam Winter Reserve is a seasonal small-batch bourbon from a name with seven generations of bourbon-making behind it. It carries a six-year age statement and is bottled at 43% ABV.
The whiskey spent six years in new charred oak, then was finished in two toasted new oak barrels. It is a straight bourbon with no added flavouring or colouring.
The nose is described as vanilla, toasted toffee, cinnamon, clove and baking spices, with a faint lift of fresh mint. On the palate come caramel, oak, cinnamon and vanilla, and the finish is toasty with clove and sweet sugar.
