Jim Rutledge High Plains Rye is a blend of straight rye whiskeys, bottled at 48.5% ABV. It brings together whiskey from four American distilleries: MGP in Indiana, Middle West in Ohio, Kentucky Artisan in Kentucky and New York Distilling Co. in New York. The blending was done by Jim Rutledge, former master distiller at Four Roses. On the nose, rye is front and centre, reminiscent of rye bread, with oak in the background. The palate brings sweet baking spices, toasted oak, rye grain and sweetness from the wood, and the finish carries cloves, brown sugar and cinnamon.
