JJ Corry The Hanson is a blended grain Irish whiskey, bottled as Batch 1 at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is made from grain whiskies aged between four and eleven years, all matured in ex-bourbon casks, and bottled without artificial colouring or chill-filtration.
J.J. Corry is a whiskey bonder in Cooraclare, Co. Clare, founded in 2015 by Louise McGuane. The name honours John Andrew Hanson, the local excise man and son-in-law of J.J. Corry. The whiskey was built with the Highball in mind, though it also drinks well neat.
The nose offers vanilla fudge, toasted coconut, griddled pineapple and lime. The palate has green apple, lemongrass and toasted vanilla, and the finish is zingy and oily with a touch of ginger.
