John Walker & Sons 28 Year Old Bicentenary Blend is a blended Scotch whisky in which every component is at least 28 years old. It is bottled at 46% in a 750ml bottle and comes in presentation casing.
It was released in October 2020 to mark 200 years since John Walker opened his Kilmarnock grocery store in 1820. Master Blender Jim Beveridge and his team worked from an original 1820s flavour list, and the blend includes whisky from the closed distilleries Port Ellen, Pittyvaich and Cambus.
The nose is dried fruit, candied ginger, berries, brown sugar and spice with soft smoke. The palate has spice, honey, molasses, sultanas and cocoa beans, and the finish is a lingering sweet spice.
