John Walker & Sons King George V Angel Chen Lunar New Year Limited Edition (75cl, 43%)

This is a limited-edition blended Scotch whisky from John Walker & Sons, in the King George V range. It is drawn from rare casks, including whiskies from the closed Port Ellen distillery, and bottled at 43% in a 75cl bottle. The Lunar New Year design is by fashion designer Angel Chen. The whisky is rich and creamy. Port Ellen gives sweet smoke on the nose, with orange, raisins, figs and cinnamon. Speyside and Highland whiskies bring spice and dried fruit, balanced by vanilla, with sweet fruit, dark chocolate, toffee and roasted nuts. The long finish carries a coastal smokiness that builds as it goes.
