John Walker & Sons King George V Royal Warrant 80th Anniversary Edition (75cl)

John Walker & Sons King George V is a blended Scotch whisky in a 75cl-class 750ml bottle, released in a limited edition to mark the 80th anniversary of the Royal Warrant. King George V granted the warrant to John Walker & Sons on 1 January 1934, and it comes in a decanter. The blend uses whiskies from distilleries that were operating during the king's reign from 1910 to 1936, among them Port Ellen, which no longer exists. The nose is spicy and rich, with vanilla, brandy butter, Christmas pudding, ground almond and blossom. The palate is fruity and creamy, with caramel, manuka honey, refined wood smoke, allspice and nutmeg. The finish is nutty, with salt caramel and biscuity malt.
