John Walker & Sons King George V Royal Warrant 80th Anniversary Edition (75cl)

This is a limited edition blended Scotch whisky from John Walker & Sons, released for the 80th anniversary of the Royal Warrant that King George V granted the company on 1 January 1934. It comes in a 750ml decanter with its own packaging. The blend draws on whiskies from distilleries operating during George's reign from 1910 to 1936, among them Port Ellen, which has since closed. It is put together to reflect the Johnnie Walker style of that era. The nose is spicy and rich, with vanilla, brandy butter, Christmas pudding, ground almond and blossom. The palate is fruity and creamy, with caramel, manuka honey, refined wood smoke, allspice and nutmeg. The finish is nutty, with salt caramel and biscuity malt.
