John Walker & Sons Private Collection 2016 (70cl)

This is the 2016 edition of the John Walker & Sons Private Collection, a blended Scotch whisky in a 70cl bottle. It centres on layers of honey sweetness with soft, gentle fruit character from the distilleries, and shows what grain whiskies bring to a blend. Master Blender Jim Beveridge selected more than 100 casks of single grain Scotch, including whisky from five Johnnie Walker distilleries and from the now silent Caledonian, Cambus, Carsebridge and Port Dundas. He grouped them into a woody, vanilla and fudge style and a sweeter, estery, honey style. A Highland single malt from experimental casks was added, and the blend was married in cask for several months.
