John Walker & Sons XR 21 Year Old is a 21-year-old blended whisky, and this is the original release, often called the Old Bottle. The XR in the name stands for Extra Rare. It was chosen to honour Sir Alexander Walker II, who was knighted in 1920. The original comes in a decanter-style bottle that is individually numbered, with a silver gift box. Its presentation differs from the later redesigned editions, as it was made for a fairly short period before the modern packaging arrived.
