Johnnie Walker Black Label is a 12 year old blended Scotch whisky, bottled at 40% ABV in a 1 litre bottle. John Walker began blending in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, in 1820.
The blend draws on more than 40 malt and grain whiskies, each matured for at least 12 years. It is built around Cardhu single malt from Speyside, joined by the maritime smoke of Talisker from Skye and the peat of Lagavulin from Islay.
The nose combines smoke and peat with fresh apple, vanilla, honeysuckle, dried fruit and caramel. The palate is creamy, with honey, stone fruit, dark chocolate, roasted nuts and tobacco. The finish is medium-long, with smoke, malt and a final note of peat.
