Johnnie Walker Black Label is a 12-year-old blended Scotch whisky bottled at 40% in a 375ml half bottle.
It draws on up to 40 single malt and grain whiskies from across Scotland, each aged for at least 12 years. Caol Ila, Lagavulin, Talisker and Cardhu are among the malts used, and the Islay smoke is balanced against the fruitier Speyside and Highland components.
The nose offers ripe peach, heather smoke and smoked honey, with charred oak and toffee beneath. The palate is soft, with caramel, butterscotch, vanilla and honeyed stone fruit, then pepper and woodsmoke. The finish is medium, with lingering peat smoke and a nutty, malty sweetness.
