Johnnie Walker Blue Label California Limited Edition is a blended Scotch whisky bottled at 40% (80 proof) in a 750ml bottle. The whisky is the standard Blue Label blend, drawn from fewer than one in ten thousand casks in Diageo's reserves. What changes is the design: the bottle carries illustrations of California landmarks, including the Hollywood sign and the Golden Gate Bridge, and each one is individually numbered. The colour is a burnished amber. The nose is honey, dried stone fruit, dark chocolate and sweet malt, with a little coastal smoke underneath. The palate is velvety and full, with vanilla cream, orange peel, dried figs and brown sugar, plus a gentle spice that builds slowly. The finish is long and silky, with dark fruit, warm oak and a trace of smoke.
