Johnnie Walker Blue Label Elusive Umami (70cl, 43%)

Johnnie Walker Blue Label Elusive Umami is a blended Scotch whisky, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is a collaboration between master blender Emma Walker and the chef Kei Kobayashi, built around the savoury taste of umami and made by selecting and marrying several distinct whiskies. The nose offers ripe apples, a near-caramelised sweetness, salted nuts and a fine mix of spices. On the palate come juicy apples, peach, red berries and blood orange, with oak and a little smoke, then a pinch of salt and pepper. The finish is long, with ripe fruit and oak.
