Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare Brora is the first release in the Ghost and Rare series, a blended Scotch whisky bottled at 46% in a 750ml bottle. It is built around Brora, the Highland distillery that closed in 1983.
Master Blender Jim Beveridge selected Brora stocks alongside seven other whiskies: Clynelish, Cameronbridge, Cambus, Glenfichie, Glenlochtie, Pittyvaich and Royal Lochnagar.
The nose is coastal smoke, beeswax and dried heather, with honey and orchard fruit. The palate brings smoked vanilla, dark toffee, salted caramel, ripe stone fruit and building spice. The finish is very long, with smoke, dark dried fruit, oak, beeswax and a mineral note.
