Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost & Rare Glenury Royal is a blended Scotch bottled at 43.8%. It is the third release in the Ghost and Rare series and is built around whisky from Glenury Royal, a distillery that has closed. It is joined by single malts including Pittyvaich, Glen Elgin, Inchgower, Glenlossie and Glenkinchie, and by single grain whiskies from Cambus and Cameronbridge. The nose is very sweet orchard fruit, with pear, peach and a little apple, alongside savoury olive oil notes and cinders. The palate leans towards sherry, with dried fruit and cinnamon sticks, oily but more floral. The finish brings pastry, black pepper and light chocolate.
