Johnnie Walker Blue Label King George V is a blended Scotch whisky bottled at 43% in a 75cl bottle. It is made only from casks of whisky distilled at distilleries that were working during the reign of King George V, from 1910 to 1936.
The blend includes whisky from Cardhu, Royal Lochnagar and Port Ellen, the Islay distillery that closed in 1983. Master Blender James Beveridge put it together. It takes its name from the Royal Warrant the brand received from King George V in 1934.
The nose is gently smoky, with orchard fruit, toasted malt, raisins and figs. The palate is velvety, with dark chocolate, roasted nuts, sandalwood and light peat smoke. The finish is long, with maple syrup and smoky cocoa.
