Johnnie Walker Double Black is a smoky blended Scotch whisky with no age statement, bottled at 40% in a 750ml bottle. It takes Black Label as its starting point and uses a higher proportion of peaty single malts from West Coast and Islay-influenced distilleries.
The blend is matured in heavily charred old oak casks, and it won a Double Gold Medal at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
The nose opens with campfire smoke, toasted oak, dried fruit and vanilla. The palate brings peat, toffee, dark spice, raisin and a hint of citrus. The finish is long and warming, with peat smoke and a dry, spiced close.
